"Computable – Incomputable": A virtual exhibition

In ZDF’s Digital Art Hall visitors move through a virtual version of the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe to discover computer-generated artworks.

Is the universe a computer? – A Virtual Guided Tour of the exhibition "Computable – Incomputable"

Is the universe a large computer, a conglomerate of cellular automata? And if so, is the human subject completely computable?

The curators of the online exhibition "Computable – Incomputable" offer insight into artistic and scientific responses to these questions, and show how computers help visualise alternative worlds that can become new realities during a virtual guided tour. The exhibition features born-digital artworks largely from ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe's collection.

Part 1: Concept & Chronology | 12 p.m. - 12.20 p.m. (CET)

Part 2: Immersion into the theme of the digital artworks | 2.30 p.m. - 2.50 p.m. (CET)
