A look back on Future Affairs 2019
On 29 May 2019 we hosted the conference Future Affairs together with the German Federal Foreign Office. More than 800 invited guests from politics, science, academia, art and the civil society and around 25 speakers from 16 different countries discussed the meaning of the digital revolution for democracies and foreign and security policies. Germany’s Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas and President Carlos Alvarado Quesada of the Republic of Costa Rica opened the interdisciplinary conference titled „Digital Revolution: Resetting Global Power Politics?”
Aritsts like Hito Steyerl and Moon Ribas discussed with scientists such as Uri Rosenthal and Nanjala Nyabola and activists like Xiao Qiang. Those who couldn’t be there can watch the panel discussions and the full livestream on the re:publica YouTube channel.
